What is the Centre Based Program?
Yarran offers an early intervention preschool program for small groups
of children with developmental delays or disabilities. Centres are located
at Bateau Bay and at East Gosford. Children come to a weekly group of
six children for three hours. The groups cater for children between three
and six years. Both Centre are licensed by DoCs.
Who are the staff on the program?
Two staff work with each group. All staff have both experience and training
in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Children also have
the opportunity to access speech and occupational therapy through this
Centre Based Program provided by Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health.
How does the programme help?
The programme helps by providing support to the family and the child.
Children receive an educational program in a small group setting. This
helps them generalise their skills back into the community.

targeted to meet his or her needs in a play based setting. During each
session music and language groups are held. Skills developed include communication,
positive & functional approach to behaviour, social skills, fine &
