What is the Toy Library?
The Toy Library is a centre and mobile outreach service, its specific
focus - to provide educational toys to families & carers who have
a child with a disability or delay in one or more areas of their development.
Parenting resources are also available for families to borrow. These include
books videos etc, to help families gain information ideas & strategies
they may need on a wide variety of topics.
Who are the staff on the program?
The library is staffed by part-time library assistants who are available
to assist with selection of appropriate toys and learning equipment, using
information provided by parents and professionals.
How does the program
help?
Our aim is to foster an understanding of the benefits of play and learning
through access to a variety of toys and equipment. Families, professionals
and the library assistant will work together in choosing toys to assist
in achieving identified goals in the child's development and therapy programs.
Parents can develop their skills & resources by accessing the parent
library.The Toy Library Van will make home deliveries for families in
certain circumstances.

What happens?
The collection contains over 5,000 items. Up to five toys may be borrowed
at one time, for a period of one month unless otherwise negotiated .Siblings
& unpaid carers are welcome to borrow too.
Where is the Toy Library?
The Toy Library is a part time mobile library, please see the Toy Library
Roster for specific dates. The library is based at Yarran's centre at
East Gosford - 29 Waratah St East Gosford.The toy library is open every
morning at East Gosford from 930am to 12.30 pm.Yarran thanks DADHC for
the funding to open the toy library each morning.
Referrals?
Membership is open to any family whose child has a disability and / or
a delay in one or more areas of their development and are aged 0-8 years
of age.

Voluntary
Contributions / Donations.
Families may determine the amount & frequency of their voluntary contribution
or donation according to their individual circumstances.The following
is a suggested guideline only
Toy Library
is no more than $50 per year or $25 per half year.

Funding Body
The Toy Library is Funded by the Department of Community Services,Department
of Ageing Disability & Home Care and the Toy Library Van was donated
by the Fairbridge Foundation and is supported by the Bellbird Committee
& Wyong Rugby Leagues Group.
